Steggles employees go the extra mile for charity

As a company behind one of Australia’s most iconic brands, Steggles prides itself on sponsoring a number of organisations, promotions and events within our local site areas. Two of Steggles employees have recently participated in charity events, proudly sponsored by Steggles.

John Evertze, a contract worker at Steggles Geelong, Victoria, took part in a charity paddle across two days last April along the contour of Port Phillip Bay, from Queenscliff to St Kilda Yacht Club. The charity event which aimed to raise money and awareness for Ovarian Cancer Research Australia was also a great personal achievement for John. Wearing a Steggles hat with pride, John left at 2pm and arrived at 12pm the next day, totalling 100 kms non stop for the social event.

Christopher Whittaker who works at Steggles Osborne Park, Western Australia, recently set out on a motorcycle charity ride covering 16 000 kms of Australia’s coastal highway. Steggles Osborne Park provided sponsorship to Christopher in an effort to raise funds for the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and the Salvation Army. The solo trip took 32 days with Chris averaging 500 kms per day on his motorcycle “Fritz”.

With over 4500 employees, John and Chris are two examples of employees generously giving their time to benefit the local communities.
