Bartter Enterprises awarded for industry leading practices
Bartter Enterprises recently received a 2005 HACCP award for its commitment to quality and industry leading safety standards in food production.
At the 2005 Annual HACCP Awards Bartter Enterprises received the “Outstanding company nominated by an audit agency” award for a multi-site, low risk company.
“Bartter Enterprises illustrated to the judging panel a comprehensive compliance with HACCP standards and a commitment to continuous improvement in all food safety practices,” said Nadene Smith, Business Manager – Quality Assurance, Woolworths, who presented the award to Bartter Enterprises CEO, Geoff Frost.
Bartter Enterprises was nominated for this award by SGS (Systems and Services Certification Pty Ltd) who perform Woolworths Quality Assurance, HACCP and ISO audits on a number of the company’s sites. The award was judged by representatives from the National Food Industry Strategy, Australian Beverage Council, Confectionery Manufacturers of Australia Limited, JAS-ANZ, Horticulture Australia Limited and QSA International.
Criteria to qualify for this award included:
- Certification of a Codex HACCP based Standard
- ISO9000 with HACCP for a minimum of two years
- Evidence of a company’s performance and ongoing commitment
“All of our processing plants and packaging centres are independently assessed by SGS and the teams on each site have applied and committed themselves over the past 12 months to achieving the highest level of compliance possible,” said Geoff Frost, CEO Bartter Enterprises.
“It has truly been a collaborative, team effort to achieve such a level of excellence across the entire company.”
